Bucks Students Union takes responsibility for its past failings and will become truly representative of its members, which we will achieve through two way engagement.

We will challenge students to become more involved with us. We will remove the barriers to participation and involvement. We will give our members something to be passionate about.

Then and only then can the union go on to represent our member’s rights and interests to the full, in every aspect of their education and student experience.

We believe the Union creates an environment where students can relax and enjoy themselves. This is reflected in all aspects of our organisation, planning and communication. We believe the Union is a place where students can express themselves in challenging ways. It is a place that drives the social life of the University and the leisure interests and self development opportunities of our members.

We are passionate about the student experience and the diversity of the student movement. We actively seek out involvement in areas that bring positive change to student life and work in a way that enables us to respond quickly to situations where our presence is needed. We are ambitious, energetic and unrelenting in the pursuit of our goals, which have a beneficial impact for both individuals and the student body as a whole. We are flexible and adaptable in our approach and use feedback constructively and constantly re-evaluate the effectiveness of our work.

We value officers, volunteers and staff with ideas and personality, and believe that lively, active and creative people shape our dynamic organisation. We enjoy what we do and will make that drive and inform the way in which we engage with the members and deliver our services.
